At first, IKAR (Icarus) had been looking at the world while standing all year long at the window in Olsztyńska street in Gdańsk. With a first blow of summer breeze, he had the feeling that it was a high time to fly, then he went to Warsaw. But there was a heavy traffic and the weather wasn`t too good to fly, so again he went back to the seaside, spread his wings over Sopot watching crowds walking towards the longest wooden pier in Europe.
This time, Robert Sochacki alongside mysterious unit K3 – kulturalne trójmiasto in the person of Błażej Kroplewski were animating the Promenade at which there are the trendy Rooster and commercial SPATiF . A project, called “IKAR – we`re going to Warsaw to fly” , comprised three figures of athletic men: Robert 1, Robert 2, Robert 3, which were hung in acrobatic position over the Promenade. To our joy, the figures won the admiration of passers – by, even those funnily dressed. Tourists liked taking photos of the figures better than popping in surrounding cafés. Unfortunately, When Robert and Błażej were carrying out the project, few disgusted people told them to take some proper job and to stop being parasites.
The finale of the whole performance took place on the 17 th of November in the SPATiF, where the film, made by the authors of the display including mysterious producer – Zambari , was shown. While the film was going on, two well – known individuals – Skinni and Patrini were generating tunes to make the whole adventure yet more pleasant. And later on…all hell broke loose…
We wish to thank Sopot authorities and the director of the shopping centre “Laura” for a warm reception of our flamboyant ideas.
